ALGIERS- Algeria will host a high-level meeting on the "fight against terrorism funding in Africa," on April 9-10, at Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, the ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The meeting, co-organized by Algeria and the African Union (AU), is due to bring together delegations from the member countries of the AU, the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU) and other international and regional organizations fighting against the funding of terrorism, the statement said.
The international event will also be attended by representatives of five member countries of the UN Security Council and Canada.
The meeting's opening session will be chaired by Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.
Algiers' counterterrorism meeting was decided "at the Summit of the heads of State and government of the AU Peace and Security Council in September 2014 and confirmed by an African Union summit," Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel said.
